Crape Myrtles for Mother’s Day

Our annual goal since 2007: Give each 5th grade student in McKinney ISD a 1-gallon crape myrtle.

When? The Friday before Mother’s Day.

Why? To give to his or her mom as a gift they can plant together and remember for years into the future.

How many? Approximately 2,000 plants per year. More than 35,000 plants distributed to date.

How can you help? This is a community-wide effort reaching out to all 21 MISD elementary campuses.

Sponsor a campus…

It only costs $500 to provide crape myrtles to an entire elementary campus. Over the years businesses have been sponsors. Civic groups have sponsored. Individuals, especially parents and grandparents have sponsored. People who just like to see kids smile have sponsored. Any amount is appreciated!
