Sponsoring Opportunities
At its dedication in June 2011, The World Collection Park of The Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney became the only site in the world where all known varieties of this venerable flowering shrub and small tree, the Queen Plant of the South, are growing side by side. McKinney’s unique 7-acre park is certain to be a travel destination, as well as a source of civic pride.
You have a chance to be involved as few others will be. We have four major levels of park sponsorship. We invite you to participate in one that most appeals to you.
1. Four “Color Rooms” of The World Collection Park
You could forever have your name associated with Red Row, Purple Plateau, Lavender Hill or the Pink Orchard. Each of these major quadrants within the park will contain all of the varieties of its particular color.
Each room will contain a kiosk giving significant information about crape myrtles, the history of The Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney and other important facts.
The donor’s and honoree’s names will be proudly and prominently displayed within the room.
In other public gardens in America, naming rights of this sort of major specialty garden traditionally command much higher prices.
We offer these four special Color Rooms at $100,000 per room.
2. “Walkways to the World”
Our garden walkways within The World Collection Park are the travel corridors along which all visitors to the park will pass. Each of the three walkways is offered to a donor or donors. A prominent sign beside each walk will recognize the sponsorship.
Limited to these three garden walkways:
The Entryway Walk is available for $7,500.
The Main Access Corridor is available for $10,000.
The Central Circle is available for $7,500.
3. Plants of Recognition
If you are seeking a special commemorative opportunity to recognize an event or a person who has made great impact on your life, invest in one or more of our Plants of Recognition.
The Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney board has determined, through years of research, that 120 identifiable and separate varieties of crape myrtles existed at the time of the park’s dedication on June 10, 2011. We are seeking 120 sponsors, or “shareholders” who will pay $300 per share, i.e., $300 to sponsor each variety.
Once all 120 shares have been sold, a significant bronze plaque will be placed in a prominent place within the park, listing all 120 shareholders and the people they are honoring with their donations. The plaque will remain in perpetuity.
Limited to 120 shares (varieties) at $300 per Plant of Recognition.
4. Park Partners
The Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney is seeking individuals or companies who will donate $1,000 to The Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney Foundation, a 501 c-(3) not-for-profit, by the time the park is 1,000 days old (March 6, 2014). At that time, all names will be placed on a permanent bronze marker to go into a
prominent location within the park.
$1,000 per park partnership.
